Telangana’s Cyberabad police deport 23 foreign nationals

Hyderabad: Telangana’s Cyberabad police have deported 23 foreign nationals who were illegally staying in India without valid passports or visas. The deported include 22 Ugandans and one Sudanese national, comprising 20 women and three men.

The operation was carried out after a raid by Rajendranagar Zone Police and SOT Shamsabad. Acting on a tip-off, the police inspected a farmhouse in Bikaram village where 51 foreign nationals were celebrating a birthday party without permission. During the investigation, it was found that 36 of them were illegally overstaying.

Following the orders of the FRRO Hyderabad, the violators were kept in detention centres. 23 of them have already been sent back to their homeland.

OTDs were arranged with the help of embassies, while efforts are underway to deport the remaining nine people. Of these, six have already received OTDs and will be deported within a week.

Cyberabad police have appealed to foreign nationals to ensure the validity of their passports and visas and advised landlords to verify the documents of foreign tenants to avoid legal issues.
