Hardoi: Five people, including four women, were killed and five others were seriously injured when a Bolero car they were travelling in was hit by a bus in the Malwa Kotwali area of Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh early on Monday morning.
Local sources said that the accident took place at around 3.30 am near the Gauri intersection in the Malwa Kotwali area on the Katra-Balhore highway when the Bolero car of people returning from a wedding party collided with a bus coming from the opposite direction.
They said that some people from Madhavganj and Malwa in Hardoi had gone by car to Choubeypur area of Kanpur yesterday to attend a barat, from where everyone was returning this morning.
The collision was so severe that the wheels of the car were blown off.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot with the help of locals and pulled out the people trapped in the car, but by then Seema Devi (40) wife of Dayaram, Pratima Devi (32) wife of Rohit, Pratibha (42) wife of Chote Lal resident of Siodhi police station Madhavganj, Ramlili (50) wife of Anil Kumar alias Dinesh resident of village Khairwa Purbawa Kotwali Malawan, besides Bolero driver Shubham (28) son of Chote Lal (Pashpendra) resident of village Karsath police station Madhavganj died.
In this accident, Vimala (40) wife of Man Singh, Keshav (12) son of Rohit, Shaurya (10) son of Dayaram and Ajay (12) son of Pushpendra resident of Siodhi were seriously injured in this accident. They were referred to Lucknow for treatment.
