Hyderabad: In a major move to promote human organ donation, BRS working president and former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao announced in the Assembly that he is ready to donate his organs.

He made the announcement during a debate on the organ donation bill in the Assembly, where he urged public representatives to take the lead on the issue. KTR said, “We represent millions of people, and it is our duty to set an example. We have to create awareness about organ donation in our constituencies.”

“KTR also encouraged other MLAs to join the campaign and requested Speaker G. Srikanth Reddy to launch a signature campaign in the assembly premises.

He further announced that he would be the first to sign as a witness, to highlight the importance of this humanitarian initiative. He said, “Organ donation has the power to save and improve lives. If those in responsible positions embrace this initiative, it will encourage others as well.”
