This incident raises questions about the safety of women in Hyderabad. Incidents of crimes against women have been reported in the city before this too. For example, in January 2024, a young woman was abducted and raped by two men in the Bandlaguda area on the pretext of giving her a lift.
Similarly, in June 2022, a 28-year-old woman was raped by her friend in the Jubilee Hills area on the pretext of a birthday party.
In view of these incidents, more stringent measures are needed for the safety of women in Hyderabad to prevent such crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice.
