Hyderabad Metro Water Works: Hyderabad (Munsaf News Bureau) Managing Director Hyderabad Metro Water Works Ashok Reddy warned consumers that if they use electric motors to fetch drinking water, they will not only be fined Rs 5,000 but their motors will also be confiscated.
Ashok Reddy was addressing a review meeting of officials regarding water supply in the city today. He directed the officials to launch a special campaign in the city from April 15 against the use of electric motors to fetch drinking water and name this campaign as motor-free tap water. He said that the water board is supplying clean water to remote areas of the city. Hyderabad Metro Water
He urged the public not to waste water. He said that the groundwater level in the city has decreased. The demand for water tankers has increased in many areas. He expressed fear that there may be a shortage of water in the coming summer.
He also explained that if motors are used for tap water, other consumers may face problems due to low water pressure.
