Earthquake tremors were felt in these areas of Hyderabad – Many people were unaware of the earthquake
A mild earthquake jolted Telangana state on Wednesday morning. The epicentre of the earthquake was in the Malgo area of the united Warangal district, with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale.
Its effects were felt in the united districts of Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Medak and Karimnagar, as well as in the capital Hyderabad. The tremors in Hyderabad lasted for about 3 to 5 seconds.
Many people did not feel the tremors, but people from other areas posted about them on social media. According to a report by the National Seismological Centre, tremors were felt in areas of Ranga Reddy district under Greater Hyderabad, such as Kastamipur, AIG Gachibowli Hospital, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Ameerpet, and Madhura Nagar.
Other affected areas include Attarpur, Chakkarpally, Gole Dodi, Humayun Nagar, Sarwar Nagar, Yousufguda, Lalapet, BN Reddy, Miyapur, Medchal, Khairatabad, Ibrahimpatnam, Sherlingampally, Dilsukhnagar, Vanasthalipuram and Shamirpet.
People came out of their homes in fear due to the earthquake, but the tremors soon stopped, giving people a sigh of relief. There were no reports of tremors from the old city.
Strong earthquake jolts Telangana after 20 years; people flee homes in fear
Mild tremors were felt in various districts of Telangana on Wednesday morning. It has been reported that after 20 years, the tremors lasted for a few seconds at 7:27 am, due to which people came out of their houses and apartments in fear. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Telangana’s Malgo district,
and its intensity was recorded as 5.3 on the Richter scale. Tremors were also felt in several places in Hyderabad, and the combined districts of Khammam, Ranga Reddy, Warangal, and Karimnagar in Telangana.
Tremors were felt around Vanasthalipuram, Hayatnagar, and Abdullahpur Mett areas of Hyderabad. The tremors were also felt in Malgo, Hanumakonda, and Khammam areas of Kotagudem, Manugudo, Bhadrachalam, Charla, and other places in the districts.
According to locals in Khammam district, the tremor lasted for about three seconds, where a wall collapsed in Ettunagaram mandal.
The ground shaking was also felt for a few moments from various areas in Jagtial city. In Padapally, some people felt their household goods and beds shaking.
